Mission Statement

Faith United exists to love the Lord with all our heart and people in all we do. Serve with nerve (COURAGE) our neighbors relying on Jesus, our Source, and use all available gifts, resources, and hands to transform every member into a servant of the gospel. Witness with wisdom of "the Way, the Truth, and the Life" of Jesus Christ to win the unsaved into Christian disciples in Nashville and beyond.

Vision Statement

Faith United will be a church where Christ is King and its Christian family Sensitized, Trained, Equipped, Expected, and Mature (STEEM) enough to minister life to people in the joy of the Lord.

Our History

The Nashville City Missionary Baptist Association gave formal recognition to Faith United Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday night, April 4, 1974 in the chapel of the American Baptist Theological Seminary. Dedication and Groundbreaking services were held exactly one year later on March 2, 1975 on three acres of land - the proposed church site. Construction bids were opened on May 29, 1976 and work on the new structure began November 15, 1976. One year later, Faith United Missionary Baptist Church worshipped in the new structure.

We are proud of our roots and we will not forget the "bridge that brought us across". We are grateful for the guidance and leadership of the late Dr. J. Lewis Powell and Reverend Charlie J. Oglesby, Sr.. We thank God for sending us Pastor Roosevelt Waker, Sr. to continue this journey.
